Dia Chelsea
Dia Chelsea is the Manhattan exhibition space of Dia Art Foundation, the nonprofit founded in 1974 and known for commissioning ambitious, long-term projects — from Walter De Maria's Earth Rooms to land art landmarks like Spiral Jetty and The Lightning Field, which it stewards. Its West 22nd Street galleries, renovated by Architecture Research Office and reopened in 2021, unite three former industrial buildings into column-free spaces suited to the extended single-artist exhibitions that are Dia's signature, complementing the collection displays at Dia Beacon.
