Held Together

Silke Lindner is pleased to announce Held Together, a group exhibition with works by Justin Chance, Flores, Audrey Gair, and Mimi Park. Created using different methods and techniques, these artworks are related through an attention to how elements are combined to make images, forms, and fields. They are bound together, stacked, tenuously held in unison, and allowed to fall apart. In each work, the artist has conceptualized the transformational forces that separate the work into discrete pieces, and those that hold them together differently. As a group, they exhibit dynamics of assembly and separation that create a dialogue around the internal cohesion of each arrangement and the boundary conditions that delineate them.

About the artist

Justin Chance (b. 1993, New York; lives and works in New York) earned a BFA and a BA in Visual & Critical Studies from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (2015). Solo and two-person exhibitions include “Again,” Tara Downs, New York (2025); “Archive,” Naranjo 141, Mexico City (2024); “Live,” Tara Downs, New York (2023); “Love is Sci‑Fi,” Sydney (2023); “Winter” (with Sylvie Hayes‑Wallace), Hesse Flatow, New York (2023); CFA, Milan (2022); “Social” (with The People of New York), Apparatus Projects, Chicago (2022); “Low Life,” Smart Objects, Los Angeles (2021); and “Better” (with Hunter Foster), Gern en Regalia, New York (2021). Selected group exhibitions include presentations at Tara Downs (New York), James Fuentes (New York), NO NAME (Paris), Chris Andrews (Montreal), JTT (New York), Arsenal Contemporary (New York), Chapter NY (New York), and Thierry Goldberg (New York). 

Flores (b. San Salvador, El Salvador; lives and works in Haddam, CT) received an MFA from Yale University and a BFA in Painting and Drawing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. In recent works known as Caserios, he examines how to frame and form meaningful architectures of feeling beyond viewers’ immediate experience. His practice, often compared to landscape painting, explores how form and touch produce reimagined vernacular living solutions and cultural reinvention. 

Audrey Gair (b. 1992, Miami, FL; lives and works in New York) has an upcoming solo exhibition with Triangolo (Cremona, Italy). Recent solo and two-person presentations include King’s Leap (New York), Eli Kerr (Montreal), Bad Water (Knoxville), South Parade (London), and Sebastian Gladstone (Los Angeles), alongside a Frieze booth. Selected group exhibitions include Chateau Shatto (Los Angeles), Depa Archive (Ghent), Freddy (Harris), Room 3557 (Los Angeles), Clearing (Comporta), Galerie Crèvecoeur (Paris), and In Lieu (Los Angeles). 

Mimi Park lives and works in New York.
