Claire Colette

Claire Colette (b. 1980, Reims, France) lives and works in Los Angeles. She received her MFA from Mills College in 2013. Building her surfaces from the ground up with acrylic, resin, dried flowers, ash, and salt, Colette makes reductive paintings concerned with language, nature, and the presence — or absence — of the divine, often invoking the gnostic idea of a divine spark.
